From Years 7 to 9, students are exposed to increasingly challenging texts and tasks, laying the foundations for success in IGCSE English Language and English Literature.

Mathematics
Our Mathematics curriculum builds a solid foundation in number, geometry, algebra, and data handling. By linking theory to real-world contexts, students strengthen their problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and critical thinking.
Interactive lessons, enhanced with technology, make learning dynamic and relevant. students work both independently and collaboratively, gaining the confidence to apply mathematics in academic study and in everyday life.
As they progress through Key Stage 3, students are challenged with more complex problem-solving, ensuring they are fully prepared for the demands of IGCSE Mathematics.
Science
Science at RGSKL is hands-on, practical, and exploratory. Through experiments, demonstrations, and extended projects, students bring biology, chemistry, and physics to life while developing analytical and problem-solving skills.
In Years 7 and 8, students study Science as a combined discipline, building a broad foundation. By Year 9, this develops into distinct subjects Biology, Chemistry, and Physics ensuring students are well prepared for IGCSE examinations and further scientific exploration.
Mandarin
Mandarin provides students with the opportunity to study one of the world’s most widely spoken languages. The programme builds linguistic fluency while deepening understanding of Chinese culture, history, and traditions.
Our Mandarin curriculum is aligned with IGCSE requirements and follows a structured, tiered approach that allows students of different backgrounds to progress and excel. This equips them with the confidence and skills to succeed in a global context.

Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
In addition to Mandarin, students study French or German through our innovative MFL programme. Lessons combine listening, speaking, reading, and writing with immersive cultural experiences, helping students develop fluency and intercultural awareness.
As they advance through Key Stage 3, students tackle more complex texts and refine their communication skills, preparing them for IGCSE and beyond.
