Creative Arts
At RGSKL, the arts are an integral part of school life, encouraging every child to discover their voice, explore their imagination, and grow in confidence.
Art
From Reception, students enjoy specialist-led lessons that introduce them to painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed-media projects. They develop their own creative expression while learning to collaborate with peers, gaining the confidence to share their ideas visually.
Music
Performing arts are introduced from the very start of a child’s journey at RGSKL. Weekly music lessons nurture creativity and self-expression, while students explore a wide range of instruments. Individual tuition is also available with professional musicians, helping children develop lifelong musical skills. With access to both tuned and untuned percussion, students gain a rich, hands-on experience of music making.
Dance and Drama
Through dance and drama, students learn to express themselves, build confidence, and develop presence. They enjoy the freedom to explore performance, learning to be both confident performers and respectful audience members. From class presentations to larger performances, children gain valuable experience in showcasing their work to others.
Foreign Languages
At RGSKL, we believe that learning a foreign language opens doors to cultural understanding and global opportunities.
Mandarin
Mandarin is introduced from the very beginning of a child’s journey at RGSKL. Lessons are interactive, age-appropriate, and designed to spark curiosity through songs, stories, and topic-based activities.
In the Early Years, children in Nursery and Reception enjoy one hour of Mandarin each week, giving them an early and meaningful immersion in the language.
As students move through the school, they develop both spoken and written fluency, gaining the skills to communicate confidently and to appreciate one of the world’s most widely spoken languages.

Beyond the Classroom
Sport for All
At RGSKL Early Years, sport and physical activity are about fun, movement, and discovery. Our youngest students develop fundamental motor skills such as balance, coordination, and spatial awareness through age-appropriate games and activities.
Through play, children also begin to learn important values like teamwork, turn-taking, and respect for others, all while building confidence in their physical abilities.
Most importantly, sport at this stage is about developing a love for being active. By nurturing enjoyment and curiosity, we lay the foundation for a lifelong engagement with physical activity as students move up through the school.
