Where curiosity begins
The earliest years matter more than any that follow. This is when a child learns that questions are worth asking, that a setback is not a failure, and that they are capable of more than they thought.
At Reigate Grammar School Kuala Lumpur, our Early Years pupils are supported through carefully planned experiences that develop communication, independence, creativity and problem solving. Our teachers nurture each child's individual development while building strong foundations for their next stage of education.

CURRICULUM
What they learn
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, the framework that guides education for young children in England. It recognises that these years are critical in developing the skills, confidence and curiosity that shape all future learning.
Communication and Language

Beyond the classroom
Learning in Early Years does not stop at the classroom door. Our youngest pupils have the run of a campus built for children twice their age, and they join in with the wider life of the school from the start, at assemblies, festivals and celebrations, so that by the time they reach Year 1 the school already feels like theirs.
Care and support
Settling into school for the first time is a significant moment for a child and for a family. Our Early Years team works closely with parents through those first weeks, sharing observations, noting what helps, and adjusting as your child finds their feet.
Communication runs both ways and stays open. You will know how your child's day has gone, and we will know what is happening at home that might shape it.

Future-ready learning begins with curiosity, communication and problem solving. Age-appropriate technology supports creativity and discovery while hands-on learning, play and relationships remain central.

Young children develop at different rates. Our Early Years team works closely with families to understand each child’s communication, learning and development, adapting classroom support and seeking specialist advice where appropriate.

What comes next
By the end of Early Years, children are ready to enter Primary School as confident, curious and capable learners. The move into Year 1 is a step up rather than a leap. Children already know the campus, the teachers and the routines, so the transition is about new challenges rather than a new environment.
